    Is it possible to downgrade the os on the blackberry tour from 4.7 to 4.1?
    just wanted to know if its possible because the 4.7os doesnt allow you to add the ip settings only the apn. although the blackberry tour i use is from verizon, im using tmobile as my carrier. do i have to download the 4.1os for verizon and install it?

    nope...there is absolutely no way to back down to such an old software, especially on the newer devices

    OS's are device specific, so even if you you could find an old 4.1, it wouldnt be for the 9630 and thus, wouldnt work.

    You're phone would be just a paper weight running anything lower them 4.7. It wouldn't work at all.

    ohh i see. its cause the tour doesnt have wifi, so im trying to see if i can get around the wifi and look for a different source of internet. seems like i gotta go get a data plan

    It doesn't matter is tour doesn't have WIFI. U cannot load such a small and outdated OS in an update date phone as the Tour. It simply cannot work.

    Would you be able to find the service books online somewhere and install it? Service books are basically settings/instructions for your bb to use.

    this thread amazes me.. how could a person even think about getting one of the best Blackberrys on the CDMA market such as the Tour, and then downgrading the OS to a 4.1 OS making the phone a paper weight to avoid paying a data plan... thats unreal how anyone could even think about doing that

    I'm not going to judge the OP.

    But anything under 4.7 won't work on the Tour.

    If I were you, I would upgrade to the beta 5.0.0.230. Anything lower than 4.7.x.x won't work.
