I'm thinking about getting a Blackberry Tour on Alltel, and it'll be my first blackberry. Nothing is set in stone yet though.

But I always thought that the Tour doesn't have 3G, but the guys at the store (and all the signs describing the Tour) says it is 3G. I guess Alltel upgraded to 3G in my area this past summer.

It's just that I always thought the Tour didn't even have 3G on it. I'm a bit confused.

Are those guys lieing to me? lol

And also, how do you know if the Blackberry Tour is currently using 3G? I want to ask someone who has a Tour to see if they do have 3G.

I'm on Alltel, by the way, if that matters.

Whats kind of the standard speed for 3G compared to the "level" below 3G?

Fast for what, browser down loading. If not connected to 3G, it will be slow. 3G is not all that fast, IMHO. But I really like the Tour, it is a great phone.

yeah it does have EV-DO
