Customize the Look of Text Message background

Is there a way to customize SMS backgrounds?
For instance, my friend jailbroke her iPhone and has a really cute Hello Kitty picture as the background of her phone. And she was able to change the colors around..

Is there any way to do something like this for a Blackberry????

Nope, it's not possible

You can install CrunchSMS which will allow for some customization but not much. I don't know if you can add a background image or just change the color of the background and the text bubbles.
