You are obviously a bit reckless with your device.

Both times it was in my pocket where I've kept every phone I've had for the past 10 years. I'm guessing leaning up against something because I pull it out of my pocket to use it and it has a cracked screen. Fortunately this time I can still see most of the screen and still use the phone for the most part

It's not a normal thing to crack your screen twice. Like Yester said, you need an Otterbox Defender.

You definitely shouldn't put the device in your pocket without some sort of sleeve or case protecting it.

In addition to making it subject to cracking the screen, it can pick up all sorts of dirt and lint that way.

How much bulk does the otterbox add to the phone? I had a 3rd gen ipod before and the otterbox case I had for that made it annoyingly big

The Otterbox adds significant bulk to the device, but in your case I don't think you have a choice unless you want to continuously damage your screen.

If I keep the tour I'll get an otterbox for it because I love this phone and don't really want any other phones that are on the market right now unless I could get a storm to work on sprint

Common problem seems to be you. I'm not saying... I'm just saying. You need a heavy duty case, they're great.

No other cases that i am aware of has screen cover. If that is what you are worried about. don't there is a raised edge on the case that pretty much protect the over all screen. unless you jam a pen or something it will not be effected.

On the otterbox defender, does the case interfer with the "q", "a", "alt", "p", "del", "ent" keys. I've had a few cases where it makes it pretty difficult to type. I was wondering if this case makes it difficult to type on.

I bought one of these over the weekend, and it doesn't seem to obsturct those keys at all. It took about 5 minuntes to get used to typing on it, but its great now I suggest the OP look into getting one.
