Default Corporate Discount - I Finally Pre-Ordered

I spoke with a CSR today regarding another matter and asked about the limitation on pre-ordering for people with company discounts. Her solution was simple; she removed my discount for a 24-hr period, setting it to become active again tomorrow. I checked online as she was saying goodbye and was able to pre-order the Tour. This will have no effect on my billing or future contract pricing.

Sweet!

I asked a CSR and they told me if I removed it it "could" take 1-2 billing cycles to come back active.

Wow, I asked for her extension, but she said it's just a departmental number, so you wouldn't necessarily get her. Melissa, I believe, was her name.

But it all worked out really well.

i got transfered, and i'm not sure where I ended up. Started with 611, then #4, then the option for "other questions"

She transferred me to someone with internet sales, i think.

My order status is now available; waiting for phone availability.

Default Corp upgrade method

Today was a day for doctor appointments and general errands. One of these was a stop at my local VZW store. Looking at a an upgrade for my daughter and confirmed pricing on it for her. Then I asked the rep named Kelly, about the issues with upgrades to the Tour. After explaining what I have tried to do with pre-ordering and others as well getting no results we tried this. My corp affiliation is with the US Government/Federal Employee and only discounts phone plan, data plan, and accessories. The phones or devices themselves are not discount any more than what most others can get.

Anyway, she suggested a temporary removal of my government affiliation to see if I could pre-order. We as soon as she removed it she took me over to a compter in the store that had access to the net. I logged into My Account selected my current Curve, and chose upgrade. Then low and behold almost at the bottom of the screen were bother version of the Tour (with and without camera). So I decied to go ahead and upgrade right then. Early "Annual" eligible upgrade allows current discounts and promotions but the extra New Every Two discount. Not a big deal so processed the upgrade for a total of $199 plus tax and free overnight FedEx.

Once that was done, I told her and she took my Government ID and mad a copy of it, went back into the system and added my affiliation back into my account. She said that if there was any issues with effective dates or incorrect charges, to let her know via email or come by the store and she would make sure it gets fixed.

I have seen elsewhere that the pre-oder is ending today or tomorrow so this may be an option for those with corp affiliations having issues trying to pre-order.

Take Care All, Robert

I talked to a few CSRs and they told me that they couldn't do it for a temporary suspension. I could choose to remove my discount but that could even take 2-3 days to process. Than...it could take 1-2 billing cycles to have the discount reapply. I save 30 a month through my discount, not worth 60 bucks to "pre-order" 5 days before it goes live.

Oh well. I'll try my luck in the corporate store in Idaho Falls.

I don't think she gave me a temporary suspension, but actually dropped it and then set something (some type of notification) to reinstate my discount.
