I just got the blackberry tour and was wondering if it has the option to type in more than 160 characters in a text??

good question... although from what I know this only works on GSM models without any aftermarket apps to accomplish it.

so as far as the tour, i dont believe it works

Maybe if the tour is in gsm mode? I know the gsm model blackberries can but as of now cdma models cannot. One thing I miss about my WinMo phones

No, SMS is limited to 160. If you need to type more, send an MMS or email.

depends on how the developer does it..

some allows you to transfer to another pin and some don't you have to email them

Another positive about Beyond160. Its nice to have the option to send a longer text if the one your typing runs longer instead of going back and seeing what words you can abbreviate lol. It integrates nicely as a menu option during texting.

Wow, really? I find a lot of these apps quite a bit more $ than their pc counterparts. For instance, Trillian's great, works w/ IRC too. But IM+ is $40? That's insane.

Trillian is good. I like Pidgin though, formerly Gaim.
