I put the cd into the disc drive and all that comes up is a blank gray screen. Id like to be able to upload music/pics to my phone but i cant without this

There is something wrong with that disk...just go to blackberry.com and download it from there....

You can also find the download somewhere off of Verizon's website... just google something like "blackberry desktop manager 5.0 site:verizonwireless.com" or whatever.
