I'm a previous 8530 user... switched to the 9630. I just wanted to pop in and say hello to you all here. I didn't have to purchase the 9630, it was given to me.

Whats the differences? I was close to getting a 8530 before the Tour so Im just curious, I know the Tour has the higher resolution, is the 8530 slower?

The 8530 is EVDO rev 0. The Tour is EVDO rev A, which is a faster set of specs for data over the cell network.

Tour has a higher resolution screen, better camera with flash, and more memory. Probably a better processor but I'm not sure on that.

Tour is a great phone and it feels a lot better over the Curve!

The Curve 8530 was alright. They have the same specs except for the screen resolution, camera, and the 8530 has OpenGL (same as Storm2) for gaming. Tour of course has the ability to be a world phone...

I'm really liking the better camera and screen resolution though.
Also have a broader range of themes... since any 480x360 5.0 theme will work on the Tour. (8900, 9700)

I think one of the best things about the tour over the curve is the keyboard. I love the bold/tour style keyboards. Not a huge fan of the curves keyboard. That's just my opinion though.

+1 skipped the 8530 and got 9630. Curve2 felt flimsy and cheap.
