Question Cannot reinstall browser from desktop manager!

    Fellow BBMers
I have no browser on my blackberry, it is not hidden.
In the DM under applications, browser/core applications/device software/email setup is dimmed and just shows 'required', there is no x or + next to them to add or remove.
The rest of the apps show installed and have x and + next to them.
I have reset my bb to factory settings a few times sometimes restoring backed up files, sometimes not.
I have tried downgrading and upgrading my version software.
My HRT and service books have no entries and have selected register now for HRT countless times.
My BIS is active and my service provider can't seem to find a solution.
    Please enlighten me.

    Thanks, Jesse

The browser won't show till the seervice books are there. Your browser is grey because it's required. You should see it in your application list.

How long has this problem existed, and what carrier are you using?

I have now restored my backed up files from last month and my services books are now showing. Still having problems with registering for entries in the HRT.
Still no browser though and no change in the application list.

Restoring the service books was a good move.

You saying the browser doesn't show in your app list? Try running Loader.exe. Of course the OS needs to be installed on your PC.

Still, if you don't receive a message when registering through HRT, you have a problem that's carrier related most likely. Try running a diagnostic test. Options->Mobile Network->menu->Diagnostic Test->menu->Run, and see if you're connected to the RIM servers.

The browser does show on the desktop software under the applications list but it is grey and cannot + or x to reinstall. Notand up only the browser is like this, also system software/email setup application/phone/core applications.
I tried to downgrade again and upgrade again to version 5 1600 but does not allow me to upgrade now any higher than V4.7.1. I had V51600 previously and now an error message pops up saying This BlackBerry® Device Software upgrade includes new features and significant enhancements to the BlackBerry® solution and, as such, is only available to users with an active BlackBerry subscription, but as far as I know I am registered and active.
Looks like the phone isn't connecting to the network properly although I can make calls and recieve calls.
The diagnostic test showed Blackberry Registration:No
But my service provider says I am connected from their side and my BIS is active.

I've been in contact with my service provider and the issue has been found.
Their networks are having problems/no longer connecting with CDMA devices(CDMA incompatible with GPRS/UMTS).
My phone was shipped from US to South Africa.
They advise me to return the device to the seller or dealer.
As far as I know this is an international phone, and was working perfectly months before.
Now I have a phone thats not going to work in my country.

Is there anything else I could do???

It was made as a world phone, when you purchased it worked as a world phone. The seller certainly isn't at fault. This is an issue between you, the carrier and RIM. Considering you have service books that previously worked, I can't think of a thing beyond continuing to talk with the carrier's tech support, that would resolve the issue.

    Sorry

I've changed over to another network (MTN) their networks support CDMA devices.
Everything is up and running again.
    Thanks for the help.
