Default Buy a Tour 9630 ?

My XP desktop died. Had to buy a Windows 7. It's 64 bit. Old Palm phone won't connect and sync.
Sprint has refurbished Tour 9630.
I want to sync with Outlook 2007 using BB Desktop Manager. BB web site says it works with Windows 7. Does it work. Do I need to be concerned that the phone itself won't connect to 64 bit desktop?
Would I be better getting the newest Bold?
USB sync to Outlook is what matters most to me.

Also wondering if an old Tour would have older version of software. Should I be concerned about that?

Thanks!!!

Ric

I can't confirm Outlook sync for sure since I don't use it, however my tour syncs just fine for everything else with Desktop Manager [5 or 6] on Windows 7-64bit. There is an option to sync with Outlook in DM, so I assume it would.

I'm running OS5 on my phone.

I used to use a 9000 with 64-bit Windows 7 and Outlook 2007, and it synched fine. The 9000 is even older than the 9630.

I have a tour and think it is a great phone, if they have a 9560 bold you might want to look at it simply because it has wifi, and tour does not.

tour 9630 is outdated.9650 followed the 9630.its a better choice even if its not the newest.

I loved my Tour bought it day one through Sprint, replaced it 3 times over the years but it was a great phone and is now my back up. If you are getting a New phone with contract, I would highly recommend the Bold 9930. I just switched to it and it is unbelievable I have had no problems with it. My business Partner has the att 9900 Bold and he is able to sync with Outlook. I use Lotus notes.

I had a Tour for a couple of years. It does sync to Office using DM on Windows 7. I had it sync OTA to my google account instead.

The trackball on the Tour is not reliable. I had to replace mine at least three times.

I would recommend a OS7 BB with a physical keyboard or if you have to pick and older device then the Bold 9650 would be better than the Tour because it has WiFi, has a track pad, runs OS6 and has more memory.
