Because yours is a little faster than mine- it takes about 5 minutes for mine to boot up at restart.

Times vary in regards to the amount of apps installed, etc.
If you turn your phone off it will turn on rather quickly, but a battery pull or reboot will take a few minutes.

When I have no apps installed it takes about 2 mins to boot up. If I have 10+apps installed it takes about 3 mins. It really just depends on how much stuff is on your phone and what OS you're running.

3-4 minutes is insanely fast. Mine takes about 10 minutes to recover from a battery pull. But that may be partly due to the BES enforced security. I can't disable it to see if it would make a difference.

Compared to older devices, the Tour has much more memory to check, and possibly is not as efficient in the power-on self test process.

From what I understand, OS 5.0 boots up much faster. I'm still on 4.7 and mine takes ~6 minutes with 6 or 7 apps installed.

after reinstall of leaked 5.0 and hybrid of Driphter's 10.1.1, it took mine < 3 minutes. Now, after loading only about 5 applications, it takes < 5 minutes.

I didn't think the apps could cause it to be that much slower.. but oh well.

Hybrids do help for sure... my worst boot time was OEM stock at 4:00 flat, now with DV8.5 I'm running at 2:28, not too bad. OP, that boot time is pretty good if you're running the OEM operating system. I've read on here of people saying theirs is way over 10 minutes...that's insane.

I was at 4-5 mins with .419, but now at 5-6 with .591. Not too bad, still faster than what I was at with 4.7.

Its typical for BB's. My Tour on stock OS took like 5 minutes when brand new, but for some reason got down to like 3 minutes randomly, with the same OS.

My Droid takes maybe a minute :P

5 Minutes for me too. I have 14 apps installed right now. Much better than the 8 to 10 minutes when the Tour was first released!

Its not just apps, its everything on your phone. Sms, mail, messages, call logs. I loaded 419 with 8.2 hybrid and was booting in 2 minutes flat. I added 12 apps and I settled at 2.35 after 4 consecutive batt pulls. I then restored my sms, calender, mail etc and it jumped to 6:47 flat after 4 batt pulls. I then cleared all phone logs, sms and other stuff I did not need and my boot time is now 3:12

So far, so good. Only had it installed about 24hrs so might be another day yet before it gets settled in completly. I was liking DV10.1.1 really well, but I can't turn down a new hybrid to try...lol. At least with .484 base there is no browser clicking bug like the .591 and up versions. I still think the best base for any hybrid was .419, but there will be more leaks coming out so who knows what that will bring?

Currently using Driph's 8.1, booting up at 2:30.

Fastest bootup I've ever had was with rbracht's .545 hybrid, that was close to 2:00. I wish he had still kept that one posted as it was AMAZING.

    Running 10 3rd party apps.

I'm running DvClassic and its just as good as all of the other 419 based hybrids. Honestly I havent really been able to see any major difference between 8.1, 8.2 and Classic at all. I know Classic has newer files so I upgraded, but I cant really see any speed differences between the 3.

I know with all 3 the speed is great for me and the battery life is amazing. I like the 3G and the old style lock and also having meterberry reset my phone early every morning so thats why I'm sticking with the Dv8.x series hybrids.

ditto on that...i will be sticking with the 8.x series also, for the old style lock. i guess i will probably wait for feedback from classic & 8.5 & then choose...regardless, driphter's hybrids are on point.
