Default blackberry tour rebooting issues

my device was acting a little slow taking a while to open up sms or bbm just lagging behind a bit maybe 5 seconds. So as i always do, decided a battery pull was in order to cure my phones slowness. Well i have now taken the battery out and put it back in 4 times for the boot status bar to just stop 3/4 of the way done and the device does absolutely nothing it just sits there, does any one have and ideas? i searched the forums and did not see any solutions anywhere else, thanks for your time!

How long do you wait? Depending on what OS you are on and what apps you've installed the tour can take up 10 or more minutes to finish loading. If you've waited that long or longer then maybe it's an app you installed recently.

Other than that a reload is probably in order.

I have let it sit and waited for an hour plus nothing at all happens just sits on that screen, how do i go about reloading the firmware when dm cannot communicate with the device? I am searching the forums now for that answer as well but since this thread as been started, thought I would ask. Thanks again for your time and responses.

I found that myself just a few minutes ago however, as I got to the usb-pin: unknown aspect and hit next i was not greeted with available firmware to load on to the device instead the screen reads: The Blackberry Desktop Software does not have Blackberry Device Software for the device that you have connected to the computer. Contack your wireless service provider or system administrator. thanks again for your helpful responses!

Are you on a BES? Did you download the OS for your phone and install it on your computer? Did you delete the vendor.xml file?

Which OS are you looking for? I have 5.484 on mine because that is what seems to work best on it but they all seem to be different.

i have one downloaded now with the vendor file deleted however there is absolutely no period of time at which the app loader says: usb-unknown, when i plug the device in it recognizes it instantly and the install fails because it tells me it cannot communicate with the device.

You don't want it to say device unknown. Do you have an OS on it now? You also need to disconnect from the internet. Are you following the link to a T? Do you have desktop manager installed so the usb drivers are installed?

i actually get a 507 error now, both the video and link say to catch the loader at the point where the pin is unknown, yes dm is fully installed, and i am certainly doing my best to follow it to the T! haha thanks for all of your help good sir.

Make sure you only have the OS you want to install on your bb installed on your computer, if you have others uninstall them.

Disconnect your PC from the internet. Unplug the modem, right click on the network and disable it, whatever you have to do on your particular machine. One of the steps when loading an OS is that the software looks online to see what the latest version is and you'll have trouble updating the OS to something other than what it finds. Disconnecting from the internet solves this.

Close desktop manager.

Now head to C drive by clicking My Computer follow My Computer -> Program Files -> Common Files -> Research In Motion -> AppLoader on 64 bit system replace Program Files with Program Files (x86)

Double click the Loader.exe and follow the instructions.

The loading of the new OS will take about 20 - 45 minutes depending on the device. Do a battery pull after everything is finished.

there seems to be a few things out of order such as i do not have a memo pad or about half of the applications generally found in the applications folder, as well as nothing in my downloads folder after restoring the last backup i had on my computer
