Compass Lite for the TOUR - Travel BlackBerry Apps - Crackberry BlackBerry Apps Store
$0.99! I wish they made this for the 8530 too - 01-27-2010, 02:08 PM #4
Most compasses for the BB will require movement in order to determine direction - you would need a real compass in the device for it to show direction without movement.

Although the Storm2 might have the hardware needed for a true compass (as part of it's accelerometer), the Tour lacks that piece of technology. The only way the Tour can figure out direction is through movement.

Hi,
I'm the developer of Compass and Compass Lite. We're looking at the new Curve2 8530 with OS 5.0 now. We won't be offering Compass Lite for the 8530 but we are certainly looking at getting Compass ready for it.
The delay in adapting Compass has been two-fold: we've been waiting for RIM to release a simulator and we've been debating about the smaller screen area available for the graphics.
We released Compass for the Curve 8900 OS 5.0 a couple of weeks ago.
