I'm just wondering, if we have a compass app like one on iphone avai?

I have problem when using google map in NYC. It doesn't tell which way i'm facing unless i walk. (vector direction)

Most compasses for the BB will require movement in order to determine direction - you would need a real compass in the device for it to show direction without movement.

I'm not aware of any magnetic compass app for BlackBerry. As F2 noted, all the GPS compass apps require you to walk a few feet for the GPS software to determine your heading.

Although the Storm2 might have the hardware needed for a true compass (as part of it's accelerometer), the Tour lacks that piece of technology. The only way the Tour can figure out direction is through movement.

Sadly this is true, we had this discussion about a week ago, maybe a future bb will have this feature

The delay in adapting Compass has been two-fold: we've been waiting for RIM to release a simulator and we've been debating about the smaller screen area available for the graphics.
We released Compass for the Curve 8900 OS 5.0 a couple of weeks ago.

gpsLogger. It's free and does a lot. It also integrate with Google Earth so you can track your journeys in 3D.
