Upgrade to 5.0. There's a sticky at the top of these forums with both Sprints (.484) and Verizons (.591). I recommend .484 due to there is countless bugs with .591

Good luck. And if you need any help feel free to drop me a PM

Go with .484. VZWs build is bricking phones with tech errors, you can't click links in the browser, people are having voicenotes, music, sounds etc. play randomly after receiving calls and messages. The builds a damn mess. Sad but true. VZW customers have to turn to Sprint if they want a properly working OS at least for now.

Is the .484 an official Verizon OS? I waited to upgrade to the official Verizon 5.0 and it sounds like that was a good idea.

I'm still running the previous official Verizon OS......

This is what my phone says I have:

    v.4.7.1.61 (platform 4.1.0.81)

    So am I running .61 or .81?

Is .61 what the phone came loaded with and .81 is what I'm now running?

All I can tell you is that I updated my Tour to the official Verizon OS (.591) and it bricked my phone. Technically, the phone still worked, but that's about all that worked---the actual phone function. Everything else acted like it was possessed.

I know that many people say that they've had no problem with the official Verizon OS, so I can only speak for myself. IMO, if you're happy with OS4.7.1.61 (that's the OS you're running now, .81 just relates to the base platform), stick with it. If you want to upgrade to a 5.0 OS, I strongly suggest using Sprint's .484 with Dripher's Dv8.5 hybrid.

That's what I'm running now on the new (actually refurb) Tour I got from Verizon on Friday. I'm having no issues with browser clicking, bluetooth disconnects and/or bluetooth turning itself off, sounds getting attached to the end of messages, etc.

You might get lucky with the .591 installation and it won't brick your phone, but at the very least you will have the browser-click problem (some are worse than others).

    Good luck.
