Bell to Fido issues
Hi guys,
This question kind of relates to other ones posted here so I apologize for any redundancy.
I recently got a Blackberry Tour from my older brother who was on the Bell Network as a gift. Me, being with Fido for so long, decided to stick with Fido so I unlocked the phone and I'm able to use it as I wish now. All was well until I noticed my caller ID wasn't working properly--some callers' names would show up while others would be "unknown caller". It was really frustrating so I called Fido and they told me the issue was with my SIM card. So i got a new SIM card, tested it out, and the issue still wasn't resolved. I've played with the options on my phone and it still won't work.
My brother told me to try to download a "generic" operating system for my phone since there isn't any one specifically made for Fido or Rogers. I'm wondering if anyone knows if such a thing exists? I've looked for a bit now and haven't been able to find any. People have told me that if I tinker to much with my phone then I can "brick" it which isn't what I'm looking for (obviously). I also don't have a data plan.
Also if anyone has had this issue with their unlocked Tour and got it resolved, id be happy to hear from you!
