    I want to buy myself a new Blackberry, but am battling if I should get the Onyx or the Tour.

    Um what ever your carrier in Switzerland has?

    Tour is going to come out much sooner than the Onyx but I think the Onyx will have what the Tour lacks?

    Is your carrier CDMA or GSM? The Tour will only be 2g with GSM I heard from around here. The Onyx will be GSM first.

    I think it comes down to the CDMA or GSM issue. Onyx probably a better phone, but it's GSM only. Also the Onyx is not as close to being released and the final specs may not be set. Tour will be the best phone you can get on CDMA (unless you want touch screen), and coming much sooner. No wifi, and the processor will probably be less than the Onyx.

    If I wasn't on Verizon I would choose the Onyx over the Tour.

    In North America, the GSM capability of the tour is Edge only (2G). Over seas it is 3G.

    Ah, I misread his post and thought he meant it was a 2G phone and GSM as well.

    Despite the limitation some GSM users will buy unlocked Tour's and use them on ATT & Tmobile, but I agree with others that they are MUCH better off waiting on the Onyx OR getting a Bold.

    They are both good phones... Judt depends on your network. I'm on vzw, so I'm getting the tour, hands down...

    One bad thing going for the Onyx is AT&T other wise I'm sure it would be a good phone, but not with AT&T

    Seeing as how most of Europe is on GSM networks, I'd venture to say that the OP is best off waiting for the Onyx if he/she doesn't have a pressing need to get a new phone.
