Ya'll either have a distorted perception of time, or there's something wrong with your devices. For the sake of argument, I timed my battery pull start-up: 2 mins 32 seconds.
Took almost 12 minutes on mine. And I thought my 8830 took a long time... The good thing, though, is the only restart I have had to do is because of uninstalling apps. Other than that, my OS has been rock solid. The hour glass has only popped on the screen for a second a couple of times under intense multitasking and didn't affect anything, just came up for a second.
10 minutes and 51 seconds for me after having the battery out to install my full body BSE.....that is MUCH slower than any other Blackberry I have used in the past....hopefully an OS update will speed that up...
Did a battery pull on my Tour last night... took ~ 5 minutes. Last week I did the 3 button press reset and it took 4min 30sec. Annoying long, but not the 10-15mins other people are seeing.
I used to have QuickPull installed to do a reset nightly.. but I uninstalled it and havent noticed a difference in the overall speed of my Tour without a daily reset. Only installed it because I had used it on my 8130 pearl and a reset helped alot!
Not quite - am in the middle of a reboot right now and it's consistently around 12 minutes. Doesn't concern me too much, typically I have it do an automatic reboot in the middle of the night via QuickPull. Don't know if being hooked up to BES and having a lot of IT Policies has something to do with it. My 8830 before this (BES also) took about 5 minutes. My wife's Curve (no BES) takes about 2, so that's what leads me to the BES/IT Policy theory.
