I went to test out the new bold this week, wasn't really impressed. Went back the next day and really played with it for a while and i must admit im starting to really like it. The trackpad is heaven compared to this trackball. The phone responds quicker also but i dont know if it is because of faster processor or OS 5.0

I always want whatever the newest blackberry is. So in that aspect, yes I'm jealous. But as soon and the new tour comes out with the trackpad, I won't care about all the Bold hype and I'll find a way to buy the tour2 and sell my first tour. But then again, I'm getting attached to my tour. It's everything I want it to be, other than the tabbed browsing that will hopefully be out soon.

Tour is almost exactly like the new Bold. The bold is clocked slightly faster then the Tour, but can't hardly tell a difference in speed between the 2 phones.
Essex will be closer to the bold since it will also have WIFI and the trackpad like the new boldCurrent Device: Blackberry Bold 9650
Future Device: Droid Bionic 4G!

according to the specs on blackberry.com, the Bold is smaller than the Tour !
Not by much of course, but the Bold is the same exact size dimensions as the 8900 curve. I'll stick with the slightly bigger tour...just wishing it had a trackpad (oh wait, it will soon)Go Suns ! - 11-07-2009, 04:56 PM #9

If I had a choice between the 9700 and Tour I'd go with the 9700, but it's not on sprint.

I played with the 9700 yesterday and, seriously I love this phone, the trackpad is awesome(I played with the 8520 and didn't like it at the first time), the phone is fast, and the design is sick. I found it really small tough, but the keyboard is about the same as my tour, only the last row of keys are really small( all of you probably know this). I played with a pre-released device with a RIM rep, would like to play with a telus version before buying it, to see how good it is on the new hspa network

while im not on AT&T (the only way i would be is if i wasnt paying for it) and havent actually played with a Bold, but it doesnt look so much better than the Tour for me to really care.
however, when the Tour2 is released with WiFi- that will interest me - 11-07-2009, 06:25 PM #17

Only reason i would buy the 9700 over Tour2 is for the hspa network from Bell. Otherwise i would prefer Tour2 for the size.

The 9700 is exactly the same size as the Curve 8900 which makes the 9700 feel more like a curve than a Bold. Tour is right in between the 8900 (or 9700) and the Bold 9000 which in my opinion is just perfect. First time i held the 9700, i found it wat too small but i went back the next day to make sure and it wasnt as bad. Im happy with the Tour. I just shouldnt have tried that trackbad. It's simply amazing.

People are suckers if they really need to go buy the newest blackberry that comes out everytime... I got the tour and it's by far the best phone that I've owned and that's all I'm really concerned about. It does everything I want it to do and I am still learning things that it can do all the time.
