Is there any way, besides "BEDSIDE MODE" to just simply plug the power into the Tour, have the clock appear and the keyboard backlight to shut off?

Does this work with a dock, or is it the same thing?

Wether you use a charger pod or plug it into the charger, it will do the same. If I set it in the pod it goes to the clock, and keypad stays fully lit up. If I set it to 'bedside mode' the clock dims, and the keypad goes out. All in all, buy the pod and save wear and tear on that that little tiny plug. Its also a helluva lot easier to just drop it in the pod and not deal w/ the plug at all.
