    I noticed Ive been making all of my reminders as alarms in my tour and when Im in class the alarm goes off even though its on silent. I dont think the appointments do this

    Whats the difference between an alarm and an appointment since they both remind you of something and both alert. The only difference I can see is the "Send using {Email}" but what is it sending???

    SILENT only silences the phone and messages, while ALL ALERTS OFF will truly silence the entire device. An alarm is used to notify you at your specified time (maybe you want to take a 30min power nap on your lunch hr). You can separate your alarms from the calendar in CALENDAR > OPTIONS. An appointment is just that - an appointment. The appointment notification is to remind you of the pending event, which can be set from 0 minutes - up to a week in advance. The Send Using {E-mail} is the address you wish to send [a meeting invite] from.
