    Hi all,

First post here........contemplating a first Blackberry!

Does anyone know when the 9630 is going to launch in the UK?

And also what carrier it will be on?

Current contract is up at the end of May so I'm thinking it could be perfect......

    Thanks,

    S

Never. The xx30 model code designates a CDMA device for the US systems and not compatible with UK (GSM/3G based) networks.

I was going to ask, how many carriers in the UK use CDMA?

Not very many, if any. So I'm guessing it's not going to launch in the UK, unless RIM decides to make a GSM based 9600, a la the 9500...

NONE use CDMA. All GSM 900/1800MHz and 2100MHz on 3G UTMS(i believe)

I'm sure there will be 96xx variants out for GSM carriers. There will need to be replacements for the 8800/8820 for all carriers at some point. After all, the Bold isn't available on all GSM carriers (yet).

Oh I see. So a Euro version would be a 9600, 9610 or something like that?

Any ideas about when it might appear?
