So I just went to Best Buy to exchange my 2nd Tour for another. The trackball issues were getting to me. I think I found a winner. So far this one seems much more responsive, and I even had to set the sensitivity down to 70. Me likey likey!!! Batt cover seems tighter as well.
Now the one I returned was build date 040709 (July 4, 2009) from I belive Mexico and the new one is 230709 from Canada.
Won't make any judgements as to why this one is better, but it is, and I'm happy. Good luck to everyone else.
The woman at BB, who really doesn't know too much, showed me that it was listed in her literature (online) that this is a known issue and that a future software update would address it. But I'm doubtful as it grouped multiple items i.e.-delayed typing, trackball, etc. We shall see.
