My father-in-law has a Tour with Verizon which was issued through his company. He has never been able to connect to the 3G network.

Is there something we can do or should we just call Verizon customer service?

IXEV is 3G the phone itself does not say 3G unless your running 5.0 OS.

just know that if the phone says 1XEV it is 3G

1XEV is equivalent to 3G on a cdma network. it will only read 3G if he has os 5.0 installed on the phone.
