I have a question, may be a stupid one, but I am a first time blackberry owner so give me a break. When I bought the tour, I was told it was a 3G phone, that being said I have not noticed very quick internet speeds even when in prime 3G locations like philadelphia. Also my phones screen never displays the 3G icon like the 8530 does. Could someone please help me understand if this is normal or if my phone has a problem? Thanks a lot guys!

On Verizon, 1XEV is 3G.. if your phone says 1xev its not 3G, it has to be in cappital letters meaning 3G... they made it easier on the 5.0 OS's becuase it shows 3G instead of 1XEV like the current 4.7 OS....
Ah that makes sense! Thanks a lot! Any idea when the 5.0 update will be made available?
thats whenever Verizon finally test an OS out that passes the test. Verizon isnt really the fastest people out there when it comes to releasing a OS... RIM sends them the OS, then Verizon has to test it out to make sure its up to there standards, so whenever they come across an OS that passes there test, thats when we should have it.

I actually prefer the trackball to the pad. I have read that most people prefer the pad. Wi-Fi would be a fine addition but not crucial and 5.0 will come eventually so i am pretty content with my 9630
I played with it too, my girlfriend has the 8530 and its alright but idk the feel of the trackball works. I know the pad is more reliable but thus far no problems with the ball

yeah i havent had any major issues with the trackball, it sticks from time to time but nothing a quick roll around cant fix..
I'm not all to excited about the new trackpad, I played around with it and it just doesn't feel as reliable without the tactile feedback, idk maybe I'll change my mind once I get used to it after a while? Who knows but as of now my tour is working great
