    I believe it only says 3G for VZW users, and not sprint users if my memory serves me correctly

    Yeah I am still on 4.7 but mine has never said 3G and I am on the verizon network. Hmm?

    no difference.. 1XEV is 3G, but people like seeing the actual 3G symbol which the 5.0 Builds on Verizon have.

    Verizon Tours running OS 5.0 will show the 3G symbol. Sprint Tours running OS 5.0 will show 1XEV. From what I know Sprint Tours running OS 5.0 will have the 3G symbol eventually whenever Sprint sends out the service books for it...
