WiFi Hot Spot App?
Friends with Droid phones have an app to use on their phones with the WiFi hot spot feature without seeing any added charges on their bills for doing so. These folks have old plans with unlimited data usage so it is a good thing. Is there a similar app for the Torch?

Those of us in the good old USA are the ones who have to pay the carriers for the hotspot.. From what I understand, it's free everywhere else. I paid Verizon the 20$ a month for it and my data allowance was 2GB. If you switch to one of their "Share everything plans" then your hotspot will be included with it (though I don't know who is carrier). But then you have to pick a plan that enough data for your needs. The only other way to avoid paying this charge is if you have a PlayBook and you use tethering with it and your Torch, using bluetooth. It works fine for general internet browsing, but you'll get a lotta buffering if you try watch videos.

Even tethering is dependent on carrier... some allow it and some don't. Mine doesn't. However, I have noticed that some things on the Playbook work through Bridge - not just the expected BB apps. Anything needing HTML access doesn't work, but a few specific protocols seem to. Strange, but kinda' cool!
