Maybe because it's an awesome handset that nobody in their right minds want to sell on their handset?

What is going on at Blackberry? The 9850 is as good as anything on the market, yet there is no promotion of the device. From what I can tell Blackberry is supporting about 25 models (and their multiple colors) through the Bold, Curve and Torch series, but only the Bold seems to be viable. Lets see, ummmmmm Apple makes 1 in two colors and 3 storage configurations. How many million did they sell last quarter?

I've been using the BB 9850 since early September, 2011, and had a few issues that were corrected by Verizon. The 7.1xxx O/S helped in some ways and I'm sure it will be improved upon in the future. Why Blackberry likes to keep the Torch series in the backroom is beyond me.

Here is a device that has so many strong feature; Size, speed, quality. I have only seen one other in service since I got mine. This is an amazing device that deserves to be promoted properly or it will die.
I notice the same issue here in Canada. Bell even stopped selling the 9860 and I don't get why. I was up for renewal at the office and wanted a 9860. We usually get our phones directly from Bell and they could not sell me the 9860. we had to go and find a local store that still had 1 left so I could get mine.

is the 9860 perfect? No but it's one of their better phone. Yet Rim is putting all its hopes on the bold 9900 and there is about only marketing toward that device.

There are still a lot of apps that won't support the 9860 and I don't see this changing. I'm even thinking RIM stopped production on the 9860 so they will get rare.

I don't know but why do I always end up with a phone that is EOL shortly after I get it. I can understand with my tour as it was all ready out for a year I think but this phone just came out.

I am I bit confused about the topic of this thread. Is it about

1) the apparent scarcity of the 9850/9860 for sale at phone retailers, or

2) users being dissatisfied and trying to unload their 9850/9860?

I just flipped from AT&T to Verizon and am awaiting 2 9850's shipping out. I found them on wirefly.com for $19.98 ea with a new contract. Moving from a Torch 9800.

I agree with what people are saying this is agreat phone. Until bb10 come out (most likely the new bb phones will be better). If RIM doesn't market the phones how and why would people want to get them?

That where bb drops the ball. Many people don't know this phone even exits, no stock in stores, sales rep are not even mentioning this phone.

Happens to me too. Not only with phones but with everything I buy it seems. I'm really disappointed they didn't give this device a chance though.

Just want to chime in about how great this device is (9850, Verizon). I loved the storm series but grew impatient with the issues, and the resolutions of those issues that just caused other issues, so I switched to the droid2 then the droid x... Needless to say I came running back. Bought the 9850 right when it came out and haven't looked back. For sale? I think not. Every time I show someone a picture or let them see something else on my phone, they always ask "what kind of phone is that?" They ask because right when u first use it, u can tell its awesome

Been looking and never see any.

Blackberries in general are almost being shunned by the carriers. They want to sell the latest and greatest and that would be android and apple. But lately people are coming back due to the fad of these devices wearing off.
