| | Why does nobody sell their 9850??
Is this phone that great? Or are the only people buying are those that actually want it?
Been looking and never see any.

I took it upon myself to wander through six Verizon stores in Los Angeles County, and was never able to see a BB 9850. 5 out of the 6 only had 3 BB models, and one store only had two. Almost every Verizon person told me they no longer stocked the Torch series, but it could be ordered if I wanted one. A few told me that Blackberry no longer supported the Torch series.
What is going on at Blackberry? The 9850 is as good as anything on the market, yet there is no promotion of the device. From what I can tell Blackberry is supporting about 25 models (and their multiple colors) through the Bold, Curve and Torch series, but only the Bold seems to be viable. Lets see, ummmmmm Apple makes 1 in two colors and 3 storage configurations. How many million did they sell last quarter?
I've been using the BB 9850 since early September, 2011, and had a few issues that were corrected by Verizon. The 7.1xxx O/S helped in some ways and I'm sure it will be improved upon in the future. Why Blackberry likes to keep the Torch series in the backroom is beyond me.
Here is a device that has so many strong feature; Size, speed, quality. I have only seen one other in service since I got mine. This is an amazing device that deserves to be promoted properly or it will die.

I have the 9860 and love it. I went from the 9780 to this device and think it's awesome. I have no complaints at all.

I think most 9850/60 users are previous storm users like me..
We are still in shock at the difference between the storm and this new torch that's why we can't sell it... We appreciate the advancement they've made

I am really enjoying my Torch 9850. There is actually working models of the Bold, the Curve, and the Torch on display at my local Verizon store. True, they are at the back of the store, but they are promoted by the sales staff. I love everything about the 9850. It is a perfect size, the speed is fast, the screen is sharp and beautiful, and the battery life is acceptable (12-14 hours with moderate use) This is a phone that I am really happy using. (never used a Storm--came from a Curve, assorted Androids, and a Bold 9930 that I still have).

I totally agree, IMO Blackberry has a great product here and I can't understand why they dont promote more than they do! Despite the small issue I had with my 9850, I totally love it and wouldn't switch it for anything else! They're a great company that makes a great product; they're just in some sort of transition period right now. I hope BB10 is everything they're saying it is!!

The local Verizon store does not carry the phone in stock, but can be ordered.
I also have seen where one or more carrier has put the phone to EOL already.
Best Buy stocks no accessories for it now. (in store)
I feel that RIM is going to drop this phone line and replace it with the BB10 when it comes out. Thus the lack of marketing for it. I also see BB support slacking on it as well.
To bad, could be a real good one for RIM if they could get the small issues taken care of and put some "Good" marketing for it.

It's either the 9850 or a Droid/iPhone which neither I prefer.
And it's the perfect companion to my PlayBook WHICH I TRULY LOVE! So can't wait for a BB10 phone!

In the Uk the 9860 is often the only Blackberry they have on show along the iphones and big boy droid touchphones in stores.
Had to recently rescue and update the wifes 9860 from a err 102 ( i think it was after a botch vodafone OTA upgrade a few days before) and while setting up was quite impressed with it and how whizzy it was if i didn't need certain functions that BB's don't cover at the moment I think I would get one of them. But all they advertise is the Bold phones while the Torches the non tech geek might not even be aware of them untill in the shop when for many there mind may be made up or as most people in the Uk do they ring up or upgrade on line..

I sold my 9850. But I bought it bricked and I unbricked it just to sell it. However my 9860 is not for sell cause I'm very much still using it. Its a great device and I plan on using it for a bit. Os10 is going to have to be nuch better than promised if I'm going to trade my 9860 for one.
