    Default Upgrading OS 7.1 issue.

I'm new to upgrading my OS, I've just recently purchased the 9860. And now I'm having issues upgrading.

I've installed the latest version of Blackberry Desktop Software, I've backed up all my data.

I then downloaded BBSAK from their website and was following this thread,
How to Wipe / Load OS Using BBSAK

I then downloaded and installed this OS, Latest 9860 Official OS 7.1.0.428 from Telstra.

I then used BBSAK to wipe my phone, I waited a while, and now I received the 507 Error screen. I made sure Vendor.XML was deleted from
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader"

I started up Blackberry Desktop Software, I had this,

I ignored that and started the Loader.exe from
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader".
    Then recieved this,

That didn't work so I tried using the Load OS feature from BBSAK and got this..

So now I'm stuck.. Can anyone help?

That's the exact same problem that I have. That's why I don't perform wipes anymore. BBsak detects my phone as a storm 2. I suggest use desktop software to update

When the Desktop Software looks for updates, the only version I get is 7.0, so I'm unsure what to do.

Then update. Its better to update to something rather than leaving the phone on error 507 state.

There is a second vendor file. Make hidden files and folders viewable. Search for it, it is in users etc. I don't think bbsak notices OS 7 it hasn't been updated in a long time. Use either dm or loader.

Thanks, I never knew there was a second Vendor.xml file, I should have done my research better. The Desktop Software has recognized the new OS and installing it as we speak.

Smile i had the same problem

i had the same issue today and i really panicked if i've bricked the phone!

it is true said by kbz1960, there is another vendor.xml which needs to be deleted in order to use apploader to install the OS..

it located at your user/appdata folder..delete that and ur good to go with apploader.

One of the real joys of BB is the ability to overcome the software issues. That first 507 may make your heart skip a beat or two but the solution is right around the corner. And thanks to CB the resolution is often easy to find.

No need to wipe the phone either, I've done 3-4 upgrades now and never needed to wipe the phone

Exactly. Loader does the job. That has been my process for a long time now and no real issues. A couple of 507 errors but otherwise almost always smooth. Loader makes the process simple once that second vendor file is located and deleted.
