torch 9860 boot loop?
hi all!
i just recently got my torch 9860 and loved it until about 2 days ago. i plugged it into the wall charger after the battery drained and when i woke up the next day all i got was a black screen and a blinking red light which comes on about every 11-12 seconds and stays on for about 11-12 sec. it will not connect to BB desktop software for more than a few seconds. so i can't really do anything with it. i also tried BBSAK. it will not connect either. i have read may solutions to this problem on this site and on RIM's site however none of it seems to apply. i have also tried looking for the stand alone app loader which supposed to be in the C drive under Program Files/Common Files/Research In Motion.... the RIM folder doesn't exist on my comp. i use win 7. i am at a total loss here and don't know what to do except maybe use the damn thing as a hockey puck(which i really would like to avoid). any advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance.Last edited by wiezel007; 06-14-2012 at 08:24 PM.

Did you download the OS and install it on your computer? Delete both vendor files?

Enable viewing of hidden files and folders. Search for vendor.xml and delete them. One will be where loader is and another in user........

His/her BB is in a boot loop. This has nothing to do with the OS on the PC. He/she needs to follow the bricked BB guide.
Try this:

@kbz1960. the process started to work when i got rid of the vendor files.
It loads the system files and jvm but will not reconnect to jvm.
have a screen shot of it.
@1imagine: seem to have run out if luck. lol. i did follow what the first link you provided says to do. its what i found the first time when searched the forums before i posted. however i found nothing, no mention of the vendor files(at least i didnt see any mention of them) which is one of the reasons it didn't work i guess. that is why i asked.
