Torch 9860 app help
Whenever I do a battery pull on my Torch 9860 I get a black box on the home screen that has at its top "Tips." Then underneath it is something that goes, "This app is running. If you like it give us a five star rating." It sounds like this app runs in the background all the time. I've looked all over the place and can't find it anywhere. There's no widget nor do I see it listed in "options." My battery seems to drain quicker than I'd like and maybe this has something to do with it. Anyway, I'd like to delete it since I can't use it. Anybody have any ideas that I can try?

Do as both say if you can, and post anything that doesn't look like a native BB app. We should be able to tell you what it is, and if it's a likely culprit.
Definitely sounds like an "installed via appworld" application, so a quick scroll through your installed applications within Appworld might also shed light on which app it might be. If that reveals nothing, scan your uninstalled apps tab too, it could be a partially uninstalled app creating the issue (hopefully fixed by reinstall and uninstall is what I am getting at).Last edited by Klotar; 08-02-2012 at 12:27 PM. Reason: Clarified looking for app within Appworld

app removal help
Ok, I've done the above but to no avail. The text in the black box that shows up says, "Tips The App is running. If you feel it's good, please give us comments and five star!" I've uninstalled different apps but to no avail. It very well may be a partically uninstalled app but I don't know what to do about it. Here's a list of apps I have on my Tourch 9860 presently (I've not included what I think are native apps)
Calm radio
Calorie Counter - FatSecret
Documents to Go
Drag Lock Lite/Pro
Endomondo Sports
Fake Call Lite
Goodle Maps
Mobile Banking
Penn State
Photo Studio
Quick Pull
Quick Pull Rebooter
Running Log
Slacker Radio
SpeakerOn
Sporty Pal
Tune In Radio
Vibrate Call Connect
Free Rintone Creator
Fixmo Tools
Ebay
MyFitnessPal
Beweather
Barcode Scanner
Blackberry Protect
Yahoo Messenger
Windows Live Messenger
Twitter
Facebook
Front Blashlight
Back Flashlight
Batter Saver Pro
Power Off Battery Watch
Bejeweled
I've gone to App World and tried to delete all my uninstalled apps but apparently that can't be done.
If anyone has any insight I'd be grateful. Frankly, the box after a batter pull doesn't bother as much as the juice that's being drained from the battery because the thing is running. - 08-06-2012, 01:52 PM #8
When you are in the Option/Device/Application Management screen, you can swipe sideways to go through usage, memory, CPU, and such for the apps. From there you may be able to figure out which one is the one running. Try accessing it while that pop-up is up.

Have you tried actually clicking/pressing the message to see if it takes you into its appworld page? then you'd know for sure
Think it was screenmuncher that always used to pop up crappy notifications on mine similar to this - 08-07-2012, 08:17 AM

Yep, I tried getting into the app from the pop up but nothing happened. The only choice is an "ok" at the bottorm of the pop up.

I've messed around for a couple of days now trying to figure this out using some of the suggestions about. I haven't gotten anywhere so I'm giving up. I'll just have to live with this goofy thing. If anybody come up with a idea though I'm not beyond trying it. Thanks for all the input.
