I'm seeing there is a software update app, is it good to update through there? Or is it better to do it via usb?

Reason I was asking is because I am also on Verizon and the only way I see software update is when I go into options and then software updates. I was thinking that you were seeing that there is an update for your phone, because if that were the case, I am not seeing an update show up on my phone. Last time there was anything official for Verizon was back in Jan of this year I believe. Every other carrier is rolling out updates, and verizon is taking their sweet time to approve something other then what we currently have for the 9850. Features that other carriers have had for months are yet to be seen on Verizon

software updates done OTA take about an hour or so, and are not a true OS load, i think its more of a patch. ive done it on some friends phones when using desktop manager wasnt available. i would ALWAYS prefer to do it through DM, by using the update checker through there or by manually downloading the newest OS, installing on the computer, then update. i would recommend this way for all updates, especially because you can back up and restore first. i think OTA is shady and if it locks up or loses data connection, you can brick. so i suggest not doing it, update through DM on a computer. plus its alot faster.
