Default Screen rotation - Very interesting...

Okay, I have a 9860 on AT&T and am using 7.1.0.342. I began having issues with the screen rotation again over the past few days. Between that and connection issues I was considering going back to the original OS from AT&T.

I did a sync, a full back-up, then updated the DM for Mac, synced again and disconnected the phone. I was planning on downgrading the OS at this point but then noticed the screen rotation was working properly again.

I had tried numerous battery pulls to no avail. The screen would sometimes rotate to landscape in one orientation, but if you flipped the phone it would not respond and the screen would be upside down. It also would not go back to portrait.

The screen rotation is working perfectly now. The connectivity issues however are still there, I often lose the connection, or ot switches to GSM or to sos only. I may still downgrade as a result.

Sounds like a software issue, BUT I have not heard of this being a wide spread problem. It is also possible it could be a hardware issue. I agree a downgrade is probably in order. Don't forget to backup your data. You are probably going to need to contact your carrier for help on this one also especially if it DOES turn out to be hardware.

This isn't a well known problem. Try reloading software.

I know it is a well known problem, and I have it. I have upgraded the OS, had issues, and then downgraded. I have reloaded software, and I always have a current backup as well has a synced computer. I am waiting for an OS that actually fixes the screen rotation issue.

Could be something in your area that is affecting the signal. We are in getting closer to that time of year when the sun's north and south pole flip emitting a CME, this year is supposed to be a worse than the previous years because of the suns lack of activity over the last 10 years or so.

We have had a few near misses so far from the one or two CME's have have erupted from sun, that a couple of the higher satellites have already been damaged.

I'm not really sure what you are referring to, but if you are referring to the loss of signal, yes. The screen rotation issue is a known issue for the 9860 and no, it still does it randomly. The memory leak issue was fixed with the downgrade.
