No Longer able to set up gmail account

Yesterday my gmail account stopped working. When I set it up I get an email saying I have to enable imap in my gmail account. It is enabled. When I go back into email setup on the phone, It says invalid account, Please validate. Then it looks like it wants to do an enterprise activation.
Can someone tell me what is happening?

I still don't know why the phone wanted to set up imap or why it wouldn't. In order to set up the pop mail account I had to enter in a different .com other than gmail.com for the advanced settings to come up. Then I was able to get the pop account up and running.

Register your phone via host routing table, make sure your os is on the latest version and finally, try hard resetting your phone.

Same thing happened to me, asking me to validate account and all. I could only fix it after doing a battery pull. Kinda weird actually.
