No 2G/3G option in 7.1.0.342 Telnor
Hello everyone, I've had a Blackberry 9860 for a couple of days now and i'm quite happy with it, but i'm concerned about battery life, which with a moderate/heavy use lasts about a day and a half. Anyway, the problem is that i don't have the option to switch between 2G and 3G and some people seem to have it with this firmware, can anyone confirm this? My phone is AT&T unlocked with the Telnor firmware. Thanks in advance.

Strange... I am on 342 Telenor and that option is available for me... Right under Mobile Settings...
Curve 8300 -> Curve 8320 -> Bold 9780 -> Torch 9860 -> Bold 9900 -> Z10
iPad 1 -> iPad 2 -> Playbook 64gb

Unfortunately while I was using 7.1.0.342 I really didn't pay as much attention to the battery life. Sorry. I was more concerned with other issues. I still want an OS that give me more reliable screen rotation without the need to do battery pulls all the time.
One issue I was having with 342 was the memory leak. I don't have that issue with 576. - 05-25-2012, 11:53 AM #6
AT&T BB's have the 2G only option disabled in 7.1 OS's. Even if the phone is not on the AT&T network, does not have an AT&T sim, and/or is not running an official AT&T released OS. The disabling is done by detecting the hardcoded vendor ID that tells the OS that the phone is an AT&T device. This is why users using the same OS on different carriers on the same device but branded to a different carrier, etc. see different options or statuses (4G vs H+, etc.).
