Yes, I realized my questions were somewhat confusing...

ANYWAYS,...

Rogers is lazy with releasing an update (if they ever do), so I'll probably go the leaked route...

You would expect that Canadian carriers be the 1st to release updates with the latest software, especially since RIM is Canadian too...

Frankly, I find that very disappointing, and embarrassing. We should be rocking the latest tech 1st!

It also doesnt help that RIM themselves released a faulty desktop 7, which they pulled back off the net...

Second day. Froze once or twice and one clock wait. Then I looked at the memory. OMG ! I lost about 150MB in one day!!! It was down to 30MB so I just rebooted.

Is anyone experiencing very bad memory leak like this? If not, I may have to reload again -- this time maybe with WIPE beforehand.

After 2 days 15 minutes i only lose 7.5 MB and stays around 7.5-9 and back again to 7.5 according to meterberry under heavy usage of bbm, emails, sms, whatsapp, browsing and gaming sometimes. For bbm i use the newest beta version 6.1.0.68. Could be because of the bbm version helps because in previous os (v7.1.0.205) i was using the official bbm 6.1.0.49 and in a day i could lose 30 MB or more.

For battery with 7.1.0.267 is bad, the discharge rate is around 12% per hour, makes me have to charge every 8 hours in a day..

I have the same issue with battery, heavy use is really bad for me as well....still giving it a couple fo days to "settle in" as they say, if not I will go back to 205. I have some mem leak as well, but a reboot can sort that, battery drain however.....I may have to downgrade for this one.

Question:

If Vendor files store the carrier information, how do you identify the vendor?

Is this leak version from another carrier? Which one?

Do leaked directly from RIM ever happen? OR Is that wishful thinking?

OK several days have passed. I haven't had that same big memory loss again. So I gather that it must be because on that day the scheduled reboot probably didn't get activated somehow. So the memory loss of 150 MB must have been for two days, which is not that bad.

These days I am losing about 70 MB per day. (190MB free after reboot, and about 120 MB free before reboot)

I downloaded and installed the new OS v7.1.0.267 and a big difference. Before I had to charge my BB every 8hours. Now with a few modifications I charge it every second day. Bluetooth on WiFi on, enabled 2G and 3G and still performing way better than before.
