It is so sad! It is specially bad with this device. Sigh!
I remember when I had my first Storm and with every update you got loads of pages.
I even miss the "downloading" posts now and people asking if the colour banding was gone.
It is so sad for RIM.
I would like Kevin and his crew to show us figures with the trends of visits, clicks, comments, crackberry store orders... I hope they are still in good enough shape for them. - 06-28-2012, 11:07 AM #35
True - but the storm was so fff-ed up that everyone NEEDED updates to make it usuable. Remember the device resetting when you went to take a picture? Though, that said, even the S2 pages filled at about 4-6 an hour after a new leak. Of course, they still routinely broke that device with OS updates. Remember the official OS for most carriers broke the Open GL so anytime a game accessed it, the device re-booted? I guess the media player errors (Device media processor is busy/ pausing 'tin sounds') & diminished volume and memory leaks are pretty minor comparably. There are just so few people on these devices. Especially the 9850. What did the Verizon Products Officer say in an interview the other day? Something like the Tour was the one of the poorest selling devices in Verizon history?
The excitement around BB10 should change all this (I hope). I imagine the London Pages will blow up once announced and stay well blown through release and the first few updates.Ad Lucem

Been using this for a day. The phone seems to be running quite well...which is a good thing as it appears I wont be moving to a BB10 phone anytime soon, if ever.
This phone is the Rodney Dangerfield of BB (which is saying something), so its not surprising that nobody really stops by when a new OS drops. - 06-28-2012, 05:34 PM #42
Just downloaded and installed 532 on my PC. Fired up DM attached my BB9860 clicked update and was told there was no update for my BB. hhmmmm Went to the APPLOADER to manual load and repeat ....there is nothing to update. I'm baffled and yes I removed the vender. Suggestions are welcome.

Normally there are 2 files, you should go to my computer and type in the search vendor.xml and delete both and it should appear
I just updated for .428 I thunk, huuuge difference, .428 sucked , slow as , and I got the clock everytime, opening apps was slow. But this one is a huge update, way better, I'm gonna be tuning in tomorrow to talk about battery life - 06-29-2012, 09:20 AM #47
I don't use Berryweather, but this version definitely has something going on in the background to recapture memory. It still seems to trend downwards, but there are big upswings in memory that seem to mostly offset this.
Maybe with the news of BB10 delayed we will get a few more updates to make our BB 7 devices even better. - 06-29-2012, 10:30 AM #48
AT&T (?) microphone problem
FYI, this has the same microphone problem as reported in .402. For most calls, in or out, the remote party can't hear anything. Sometimes, after 10-60 seconds into a call, the phone will send audio.
Of course, the microphone works for everything else. Go figure... a phone that can't make or receive calls. - 06-29-2012, 11:04 AM #49
My broken record routine...

- any wifi calling?
- is there an embedded IT policy, like in .402 and .428?
Thanks in advance.Klotar

Exactly. This is not 3 years ago. This is not old hardware. This is RIM's newest hardware. This is their touchscreen flagship. This is an OS that RIM has put together, compiled and tested and sent on to carriers with word that the OS is perfectly fine, and yet there remains a media player bug, for the last several dozen compiled builds, and of course a phone mic problem. How anyone had faith that this company could execute a new OS on a timely basis or that they can still get it out the door is beyond my meager comprehension.Ad Lucem
