Default How do you turn num lock on?

The tutorial on blackberry.com says if I hold shift down it will act as a caps lock. This is true. It says if I hold 123 down it will act as a num lock. This doesn't seem to be true. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Oddly enough it worked fine just now when I typed 123. But in sheet to go where I need it, it doesn't. Any ideas or does it just not work?

Ok I guess I should be clearer. I need it to stay on permanently. In sheet to go I do data entry when I take inventory at work, so I need it to stay on even after I hit enter. on the 9810 and 9900 I can hit alt-aA like you say, but this phone has no alt so what do I do?

Ok. Maybe I'm dumb but what button are we calling "alt" here? No key on the keyboard says alt.

:if u press the &%123 button it will stay in numbers until u switch back to ABD Mode.... Just touch that button next to the "?" Symbol and u get numbers until u switch back...

Right but if you hit enter it turns off. On every other BlackBerry I've ever had there has been a way to leave it on indefinitely. It sees lame this phone can't do that. I guess I'm the only one who ever needs it on for long periods of time.

Bah sorry. Seems as you say hitting enter and it's off. The only way I see too keep it is to zoom in and use touch to change the cell.
