Default HELP!! Previous calendar appointments are gone!

Please help! All of my appointments prior to 1/17 (and texting history) are gone. Unless it is a recurring appointment, ie birthday etc, my appointments do not exist. My calendar is set to remember appointments forever, and they are all on Outlook, just not on my phone. After a 1 way sync from Outlook to Phone, no change. All softeware has been updated, reboots, restore, - no change. ANY SUGGESTIONS??????

First question: do you have a backup copy of all your appointments anywhere else? (e.g. Google Calendar, Yahoo Calendar, etc.)

Second question: When was the last time you did a full backup of your Playbook. you may still be able to salvage those that were there at the time of your backup.

I'm guessing when you did a one-way sync from Outlook to your phone, you may have accidentally synchronized a different folder (Outlook data) on your phone. I sometimes make this mistake since I find the way Outlook organizes data folders somewhat confusing. Anyway, here are some options to salvage your Calendar data:

1. If your appointments are still in outlook, try doing another sync, but check the folder settings in Desktop Manager to make sure you're synchronizing the correct data onto your phone.

2. If your calendar data is not in outlook, but have performed a recent full backup, just perform a restore by connecting your phone to your PC (USB) and using Desktop Manager/Software to restore your last full backup to your phone.

3. If your appointments are not in outlook, and have not performed a full backup either, but have a backup of the calendar data on, say Google Calendar (or Yahoo Calendar), then setup Outlook to sync with Google/Yahoo Calendar, then sync Outlook to your phone.

3.1. If you have your calendar data backed up on Google Calendar, you can also just download Google Sync to your mobile phone (free, go to m.google.com), set the app up, and just do a direct sync of your phone calendar with your Google Calendar.

Hope these options help. Please post results so I, or others here, can help you out further if necessary.

Good luck with the restoration.

By the way, if you're synchronizing Outlook with your phone using the BB Desktop Software, it should/will notify you of the changes it will make to your phone. Kindly pay close attention to what it reports, and select the appropriate action. For example, it might say "Adding 1234 Contacts to Phone". That's already an indication that data is indeed being copied onto your phone. Otherwise, if no such reports are given, that means you are possibly copying/synchronizing an empty outlook data folder. If this happens, stop the sync, and check how the sync is set up. You may have to map a different outlook folder for sync (one that contains your calendar data).

You did not indicate if you are using more then one email on your phone. If you are using multiple emails as I do, Make sure you have your calendars set to see all calendars. To do this open your calendar, Options>Select Calendar>Show All Calendars. Hope this helps.

THank you. Yes I have multiple emails going to the phone. I ended up playing phone tag for a while with Verizon Tech support, before they FINALLY put me thru to BB Tech Support. They didn't know why it had happened. We reset the phone and reinstalled the software (had already upgraded to 7.1) then had me one way sync to the phone and "replace all values" to get it to work. WHEW.
