Got an unloked 9860 but only get edge on ATT

Ok, I finaly get my unlocked 9860 to use on my ATT network to replace my 9800 which took a dip in the pool and died. I should have done more research on the unlocked version as I have never had one. Come to fin out that the phone only works on edge and not 3g. I'm returning it Tuesday. What version should I get? Can I do something to the one I have to get 3g on ATT? My edge signal is very poor here, and inside the house I cant get a signal.

you need a one that is either rogers,bell,telus,att in order for it to get 3g

you probably got the Tmobile version. You need bands 1900 and 2100

Ok is from SFR mobile. It says SFR 3G when I turn the phone on.

Ok i see now that SFR is compatible with T-mobile. Is going back

oh yes i have a SFR as well, i need it for wind mobile in canada so thats why i got it

when in doubt, look in the "About" screen

the t-mobile/WIND versions will show 3G bands 1,2,4 (2100, 1900, 1700) if i remember correctly. the one you need for at&t will show 1,2,5,6 (includes 800/850).

That's wierd, my AT&T 9860 does 4G..

I returned it, I get the ATT one tomorrow. Can't wait. I using an old curve I had around the house and I hate it. Got used to the 9800. It said it was the latest ATT vesion. Dont know what that means.
