Post Dummy Phone housing on actual working phone?

I have seen some threads on this and some say it works and some say it doesnt. Here's my reason: there is a white torch 9850 dummy unit on truesupplier.com and I have ALWAYS wanted my 9850 to be white but, there are no white housing replacements for it and it doesnt look like they will be releasing a white model of this phone (from the looks of the recent post that was posted on Crackberry about the white models of each phone) so I was wondering if I could take apart this dummy unit: Blackberry Touch 9860 Display Dummy Phone Fake Not-working White::Blackberry::Dummy Phone::Truesupplier - Blackberry Accessories,iPhone Accessories & HTC Accessories wholesale Co. and use the housing or at least the faceplate and put it on my 9850. I understand it will void my warranty etc. but I'm willing to try this. Give me your thoughts! thanks!

nope it won´t work, the parts are not real parts, they are kinda glued together.
you can´t get them off and use them as a real housing for your 9850.

That is one sweet looking phone though.... If it would work, I'd do it for sure!! I swapped over my 9800 before they came in white.....

What about ColorWare - BlackBerry Torch 9860 More expensive but what you're looking for.

$750 is ALOT more expensive! Quite cool, although in the case I can't see the sides or back so it doesn't matter

Here's a great alternative: BlackBerry - Search by Brands

I use the clear skins over the case with the screen protectors from verizon. You don't want to use the screen protectors from this company. They suck. But the rest of the product is great. My ol' lady has the white carbon fiber look on her 9930 and she loves it.
