broken usb port

I have a 9860 with a busted USB port.

I took it to Telus who were very happy to sell me a new phone.

where can I send the broken one to be repaired? Would RIM do this for me?

Is it worth my while or am I the proud owner of a good looking paperweight?

I've dealt with http://cpr-calgary.com/ in Calgary. They accept mail in repairs and will give free estimates. The only problem you may run into is that it may cost more to fix it than to buy a new one. Good thing estimates are free so you will know before hand.

Is your phone off warranty already?

According to the store manager she didnt think it would be covered and that it would be more costly to repair it than purchase a new one.

i did purchase "insurance" for the new phone.

the phone still works other than you cant charge the battery or update/backup.

what a waste i think
