I don't think it will come to the OS 7 devices, but hey it might. I'm used to RIM not providing major software updates now... Would've likes some sort of big upgrade on my 9800...

RIM does'nt do major updates but let's all agree that most of the os7 devices have the hardware to run bb10

For more than year this has been settled. RIM has decided.that they do not want 10 on anything other than dual core phones.

Remember that leaked photo of BB 10? That looked like a 9850/9860 device but it could have been a fake. RIM normally doesn't do big software upgrades because they want you to buy a new device. That's how they make money.

I think at this point most people who are following BlackBerry, or regular members on CrackBerry, know that the chances of seeing BB10 on OS7 devices is slim. RIM has said it only runs on dual core, BB10 has a different architecture then OS7 devices, it is QNX/not designed for older phones etc.
Add to this the fact that RIM really needs to be putting new hardware in the hands of consumers, and it seems even more unlikely.
All that being said (and I still wouldn't get my hopes up), I still don't think it is impossible that down the line we won't see some kind of variation of BB10 running on a couple of the devices we have now (9860, 9900 maybe?)
After BB10 is established, and hopefully making some waves on RIMS new hardware, I could see some variation of BB10 being ported over the way OS6 came to the 9700.
But, at this point RIM has basically put the kibosh on the idea. A lot of people want to believe it will happen, but the official information on it is basically "nope, not happening". - 04-16-2012, 03:15 PM #108700, Bold 9000, Bold 9700, Torch 9860, Z10! No case FTW!!!

The only possible way other than rim doing anything is that a famous dev makes a BB10 theme.

in reality who knows I mean you could update to OS6 from some OS5 devices, It may be possible to do the same with 9860 but we will have to see and wait.

PB 2.0 is running QNX which is basically the same thing + it has 1GB RAM, where BB7 and older had, at most, 768MB. Just think, most legacy BB's couldn't even upgrade to 7!!!!
So unless you think Blackberry is going to modify QNX to run older equipment, I wouldn't count on it. - 04-27-2013, 11:47 PM #19

would be nice, but OS 6 devices couldn't update to OS 7... So unfortunately no. Can't wait for the Q10

No chance it can have BB10 at all. It would probably be able to run it, just not well at all (constant crashes, laggy performance, etc.).
Even if that wasn't true about the specs, you have to look at it from a sales perspective; they want people to spend a lot of money to upgrade to the latest and greatest.
