Bailing on Google

OK, as much as I like all of Google's apps and features, I just don't trust ANYONE or ANY COMPANY to be able to hold secrets anymore. I'm not interested in giving up all my personal info to Anonymous and WikiLeaks.

But I am interested in syncing my contacts and calendar between my Torch and my iPad and my PC - is there an easy way to do that without all the obvious uploads, conversions, wires and grief?
