Any Extended batteries for the 9850?
I really want an extended battery for my 9850 because I take pictures and videos a lot and it drains the battery too fast. An extended battery would help out so much. Is there any?

you are better off keeping a couple stock batteries on hand
Check out Amazon for extended batteriesBIG UP BIG UP, ITS A STICK UP STICK UP

This issue is that the BB Phone will look for a "coded" battery. If it does not have a code or is incorrect the battery will not work. Only
They are out there, but a hasstle.

I just ordered one for my torch 9850 from e_cell last night. I ordered the extended battery and they emailed me and told me I don't need to replace the battery door as the battery fits with the stock back. Looking forward to receiving it. They already confirmed my payment by email, and so far their customer service support is outstanding, as they answered a few questions I had within ten minutes

Received my extended battery from e_cell last night. Customer support from the company I purchased this from in England has been top notch, but I can not get the battery to work, in spite of reading positive things about this battery. The directions on the device that you place your original battery and the extended battery are not really clear, but the bottom line is that the battery does not work when I placed it in my 9850 torch, after reading directions and attempting to make it work 5 times. Anyone else in this similar situation? Anything else that I should do that I was not made aware of?
Thanks

Is it one of the gold batteries you bought?
If so you do the following...
Put the gold battery in your phone and leave it until you see the no battery icon
Then put the phones original battery in the clone device, followed by the gold battery
The light will illuminate, then go out then illuminate again, you should be able to use your new battery then, i was a bit hasty at this step so it took me a few goes
edit: thought i'd screenshot my device analyzer, the flat bits are the overnight auto power off but still good performance! this was straight out of the box without charging it first!Last edited by Stubbo; 05-16-2012 at 04:39 AM.

Yes it was the gold battery. I am not getting any light to illuminate when doing this procedure. Not sure how long it takes until I am supposed to see one. Also in the clone device the holder for the original battery has 2 prongs while the holder for the new battery has 4. I just tried your advice and got the same results as before.

Contacted e_cell and their customer service is really second to none. They offered me a few tips via email, and when I told them I had already tried what they suggested I do several times, they apologized for the problem and they are sending me an entire replacement, hoping that the problem will be resolved. Seems like you cant get really good service from a lot of people, but for this reason alone, I recommend e_cell highly, as they stand behind their products. I would really give them a shot, as I am very positive that the replacement will work fine once I get it

I initially thought you would do, but it appears that you actually dont!
I've pulled battery a couple of times to confirm and no re-cloning needed!
Added bonus there
Edit: the only thing i've not tried is going back to original battery, then trying the gold one again, will try when i get home - 05-22-2012, 05:16 AM #16
Confirmed working on my .402 however not everyone has had success
Still havent tried going back to stock battery to see if a reclone is needed yet though!
DJM i notice considerable difference, im no longer obsessed about getting near a charger at any time during the day and can easily last until mid next day before i have to think about it (and even then its not critical!)
Coupled with the fact that i also have my original as a spare i can probably get 3 days without a charge if needed!
My big test will be download festival, i'll have 2 batteries and no charger to last me wed > mon, obviously i'll be turning a few things off like work emails but its still a big ask!Last edited by Stubbo; 05-22-2012 at 05:22 AM.

Thanks for your reply Stubbo. Sounds like you found something good. I didn't ask you about 402 but was going to. Maybe I am one of the unfortunate ones that wont be able to use this on mine. Anyhow, a replacement is on the way, and I will be anxious to try that out to see if I have any luck with it this time around

Received my replacement battery for my defective one today. Running the latest verizon 0/S. Have not installed any leaks of any kind. Followed the instructions and my cell powered right up without any issues! I can't recommend e_cell enough. Their customer service dept is probably the best I have ever dealt with for anything period. I will monitor my battery and report back, but I am already confident that I will have the same kind of results as Stubbo is getting. If you buy a battery from e_cell they will tell you that for the first time charging, you have to run the battery down until it has only 1 bar left and then charge for 12 hours, no matter what your phone indicates. It also states that after that period, you should always charge your battery when it is down to one bar for a period of 6 hours all of the time after your initial charge. This will make sure the battery reaches its maximum potential. I'm very excited. Best part is that it is the same size as the original battery, so that means no big or bulky new back cover is required at all. Good luck to whoever decides to purchase a high capacity battery from e_cell. I am sure your experience in dealing with them is going to be just as awesome as mine was !
Cheers

Why don't you crack a beer and buy a few cheap amazon original batteries. 2 extra for me do the trick
Stop going through such worries.
