So there I was minding my own business when the UPS guy shows up at my house with a small box. Inside was my new addition, an AT&T branded 9860. So far its been less than 12 hours but so far it's been great. I was very surprised by the responsive touch screen. I do have to say the the keyboard in portrait mode seems somewhat cramped but the typing is still relatively accurate. The transition from portrait to landscape is very fast and smooth. The landscape keyboard is very spacious which makes typing easy. I have installed a newly leaked OS, 7.0.0.277 and need to let it settle in for a while before I can truly get an idea of performance and battery life. *Please note these comments reflect my opinion based upon minimal use at this time*

So, since theres so much controversy surrounding the bottom buttons... what is your opinion on them since you have one in-hand?

I do not have the guts required to put a new OS on such a phone!

You must have great friends to keep sending you these boxes with these new phones!

Me too... I have a just as new with box unlocked bell atrix to trade for one of these devices...

The thing is, i got a really good friend that has a really good friend that works for RIM, but he is too scared to even answer a few questions I had for him regarding release dates... he was nice enough to show his 9900 though.

It would take $1800 to even get my contact interested.
