Default 9860 working better on 7.0.0.440 than 7.1

Alright so I thought of posting this cause it's rather strange. I bought an unlocked at&t 9860 last week and right after taking it out of the box, i flashed it to 7.1.0.342. Now the device worked with a couple of glitches:

    I couldn't switch between 2G and 3G manually
The signal strenght would go to 0 randomly and display SOS
    The device reset randomly
Battery life was about a day and a half with moderate-heavy use

Other than that the device worked fine, but i thought of giving a try to the latest oficial at&t OS, and so i flashed it back to 7.0.0.440.

Now not only i don't have any of those problems, but i've also noticed the touchscreen being much more acurate while typing for example. Battery life has GREATLY increased using the device in 2G mode, and turning 3G when i need heavy browsing, I've used for two and a half days and i still have a bit of battery left.
I must admit, the battery life thing is obviously because of having the 3G off most of the time but, BBM and email work as good in 2G mode so, whenever i need to browse through complex webpages i just turn 3g on (or wifi), and it's all good. Many of you will say that's not a good solution, maybe too much of a sacrifice turning 3g off but to me it's a small price to pay to have a very good battery life.
    Hope this information is useful

The latest OS is not always the greatest as you have just learned!

Even without the new features added, 7.1 was worth the upgrade for me. The touch screen is much more accurate. I can now type on the keyboard petty fast. With 7.0 I always miss typed. Also for me Battery life is about the same.

I had the same issues. I went back to 576. Now I just wish I could find an OS without the accerlerometer issues so I don;t have to do repeated battery pulls for it to switch from portrait to landscape.
