9860 Hotspot?
Hi,
is the Torch 9860 capable of Mobile hotspot?

On OS 7.1 I think all devices are, but yes the 9860 is capable of mobile hotspot

It's worth repeating that you should check with your carrier before utilizing this feature...I almost got a HUGE bill because my plan didn't include the hotspot feature.

You can get away with regular surfing...but I would strongly advise you to stay away from music/video downloads.

So what kinds of speeds would be usable using Torch as mobile hotspot for laptop? Could it replace my broadband 3g usb modem? Could it be faster than bluetooth tethering on Playbook? Both are on Verizon, both have grandfathered unlimited data plans.

Hi it is possible this feature doesnt appear on a 9860??? Says just network and wifi? Not hotspot?

Do you have OS version 7.1?

Well my carrier is TMN Portugal, they said doesnt provide! But vodafone portugal does. If i just put a vodafone simcard, the feature suddently will appear on the menu??? Shouldnt it be there now?

Well this is for a guy on a portuguese forum. Cause im vodafone. And i have hotspot and my phone is 9900. Im trying to help him.

If the carrier doesn't support it, then it will not show up.
