When I type 'the' it always comes out as t'he.

Hi again i have a new problem now lol.

Whenever i type the word 'the' and press space to go to the next word. the word 'the' always comes out as 't'he' which is very annoying. Does anyone know why this happens?

Hi Lisa-Marie, the first option is always do a battery pull. I assume you areusing the physical keyboard and not the virtual keyboard on your 9810. If so,it doesn't make any sense why this anomaly would happen since the apostrophe is not on the "t-h-e" letters. So my initial guess is it just needs a good reboot-battery pull. If it still does it after the battery pull, it could be something in the keyboard itself and I'd take it to a repair shop or carrier service center to be looked at. Hopefully a battery pull will fix it for you.When in doubt always do a battery pull first.

Hi there, i'm always doing a battery pull lol. It's always the first thing i do and it hasn't made any difference to it. It still has the ' between the t and h letters. I type pretty fast so i always have to check back what i've typed and go back and delete the ' in the word before sending. It's really annoying.

Try following:
in universal search look for 'word substitution', and check whether on the list "the" does not appear, and is being replaced with "th'e".
If it is the case, then simply delete it.

Yes, it worked. I can't thankyou enough. I was starting to think there was something wrong with my phone.

There's something weird going on with my twitter. If someone tweets a new tweet like say 2 minutes ago it should say 2 minutes but instead it says 12 hours. It's the same with every new tweet. I don't suppose you know what's wrong with it?

That's ok. I think it might be because i have the old version and i keep getting pop-ups to update to the new version but i always decline because i'm old school lol and always prefer the older version of things!

Good points and maybe a good idea to check the word substitution list to make sure nothing else in on there that's a "goof" as you put it, lol--especially if you are using the virtual keyboard.

Yep. The boyfriend is notorious for typing "kown" instead of known, so the phone automatically writes it that way...its something that I had to get used to seeing and learning his language...he is also dyslexic which made his 9800 pretty much the same...the Android he has corrects pretty much everything but somehow it still slips through when he spells "kown". But as an example, the phone will learn how you spell things sometimes and take it seriously

Right at this moment I think I will stick with this update...its been great for me on battery drain, and device analyzer isn't there, but I think I can live with that. I work a lot of hours this week and I actually will need my phone so if I downloaded it and ended up with a lot of quirks I won't be able to reset right away for lack of time.

Are you sure it is not there? Have you tried ALT+BBDA while in the options menu?

Hi Trosh's--Makes sense if you aren't having any issues. I"m still on .746 so I may do it this week--reports are good on it! As for your device analyzer, knowing you, you probably have, but PiotrJot is correct in that if you haven't done the ALT+BBDA while in the options menu, you should try it. I had to do that with one of my downloads a few builds back. All 7.1 builds come with it, but it's up the carrier or builder of the OS to turn it on or not. If you have and it doesn't work, you'll probably have to wait for the next update or reload this one.
