Should I install .378?
I had problems with my previous 9810 randomly restarting, so AT&T sent me a replacement unit last week. I am hesitant to install a new OS at this point.
Is it possible that because I did not remove all vendor.xml files, that it might have caused the restart unit? I was running OS 7.1. on my previous unit. I did wipe it clean and put OS 7.0 back but the restart problem did not go away. I suspect it was the new SIM card I received...
Thanks for your comments.

Everyone-the "4G" sign in the corner of your phone is graphics only! AT&T only uses the H+ coverage which is slightly slower than actual 4G, and shifts automatically if in a 3G zone. They do not have actual 4G for 9810 phones--only on LTE phones which 9810 is not one of.

Rich--I doubt it was the sim card. I'd do the following and reload the 7.1.378 or version you have. That said, you need to delete ALL of the vendor.xml files from your PC completely! But only the "Vendor.xml" files for blackberry as other programs may use a similar file like Quickbooks for instance. The files are located here:
C:\Program Files\Ciommon Files\Research In Motion
and
C\Users\"name"\Application Data\Research in Motion\Blackberry
I'd start over and Delete these files completely (recycle bin too) and then reload the OS and it should work fine. If you need instuctions I can repost all though mine and others are all over the forum. Let us know how it goes and good luck. - 05-31-2012, 10:02 AM #32
Ok, thanks for the info.
Will the major apps like Facebook, Scoremobile, Drivesafe.ly work propely with 7.1.378?
Is anyone aware of any apps which break under OS 7.1.xxx?
Update: I am installing .378 and I received a 507 error message on my 9810 and DM reported that the Applocation Loader was unable to conenct to my divice. After clicking on the Retry button twice, I disconnected the USB cable, plugged it back in, and it seems to be working (completing the installation process).

A new SIM card should actually be helpful rather than be a problem. I'm interested to see if you can get to the bottom of the problem because I have had zero success with mine, even to the point of rebooting just after receiving the BIS registration message after doing a complete wipe and then turning on the radio.

Well it's too soon to tell but my Torch has not randomly restarted since receving a new SIM. However, I just installed 7.1.378, so who knows if this will change anything? Hopefully not.
BTW, after installing .378 my available RAM went from 195 MB to 166 MB!
I hope the upgrade from 7.0.205 was worth it...
